The picture gallery of Brera is one of the largest galleries of Milan, it is situated in the building of the same name built in the end of XVI — the beginning of the XVII centuries, where also the Milan academy of Arts is located. In a gallery collection there are works of such artists as Ambrogio Lorenzetti, Donato Bramante, Raphael, Mantegna, Piero della Francesca, Gentile da Fabriano, Carpaccio, Tintoretto, Francesco Hayez, etc.
In the second part of the excursion a visit is planned to the well- known around the world La Scala opera theater. The building of the theater was designed by the architect Giuseppe Piermarini in 1776-1778 in the place of the church of Santa Maria della Scala, from where comes the name given to the theater.
